Reading for storytelling Reading for audience. Focuses on style, voice altercation, and passion Participants read a portion of a story.  Constructive feedback to correct and guide. *A
Art – Sketching Discussion is on fitting character/scene to story and audience Participants will sketch a character/scene for a given title and audience *B Notebook or tablet, pencils
Art – Style Fitting Creating a style for the chosen genre and audience Participants will use various media to create a style using a background image *B Colored pencils, markers, paints, crayons, pastels, etc.
Grammar Games Games focusing on the 8 parts of speech This is a fun, fast-paced game-format for learning grammar basics Eraser or blackboard, markers, eraser Notebook or tablet, pencil or pen
Cover Art – Digital Manipulation Discussion is on visibility, digital representation, creating “printable” work, and maintaining style Participants will use provided digital media to craft cover art. *B Computer with “fotor” (downloadable editing software) or comparable editing software
eBooks – Formatting How to find and format eBooks in word and pdf format Participants are shown how to find and follow digital formatting requirements for ebooks on a specific platform *B Computer with internet connection, ability to read/print pdf files, and word processing software, (optional – participant’s story file and cover art)
eBook to Traditional How to create a print book from currently published eBook Participants are shown how to create a print book from a currently published eBook on a specific platform *B Computer with internet connection, ability to read/print pdf files, and word processing software, (optional – participant’s currently published eBook, story file, and cover art)
Recordkeeping for Personal Finance How to use MS Excel to keep a detailed record of artistic works, collaborator royalties, income, expenses, and reports pertaining to author or illustrator Participants are shown how to use an MS Excel workbook to keep records pertaining to participant’s unique requirements *B Computer with Microsoft Excel
Presentation – for shows How to design and set-up a show presentation Some topics will be: learning your audience, maximizing space while minimizing clutter,

*A – Books for reading will be supplied to each participant.  If workshop wishes to use a specific book, please provide one copy for administrator and one copy for each participant.

*B – Administrator will provide own computer for display, digital files, artwork templates, and other general teaching materials required.  If participants wish to use their own files, they need to provide it.
